August TUSAL and No control

I have no control anymore; it is as if I am possessed.  If I see a chart that I like, first I have to buy it and then I'll kit it up for future stitching.  That's when the trouble starts, I look at it every day and then I choose the fabric and by that time it's on.  I saw this chart by Joan Elliott and I immediately ordered it as a chartpack.  Once it was kitted up I had to start it, never mind I have all those other wips.  I blame this behavior on a few dear friends; they are the ones who convinced me that I could do more than one project at a time. They're evil I tell you, EVIL! I know they are lurking out there somewhere laughing and rubbing their hands together.  Anyway here is a picture of what the chart looks like and my progress so far, I started it on 8-11-12.

This is Joan Elliott's "Africa" and it is being stitched on 28ct  Light Moss Jobelan with DMC floss.

I would like to apologize for my absence , after my last post we went on another weekend trip to Atlantic City for DH birthday, I came back and had my blood work done and found out that with diabetes you can’t eat anything (because it all spikes your glucose levels) and it shows on the A1C blood test.  I also learned that hot water heaters only last about 10 years and then they rust and leak into your down stairs neighbor’s utility room ceiling.  Of course the homeowners insurance won’t pay to replace the hot water heater and may or may not pay to repair the neighbors ceiling.  Loads of fun stuff.

Well I am a little late posting my TUSAL but it is full of beautiful colors and sitting atop my new friend Freddy the frog, I picked him up in Atlantic City, hopefully he’s the only frog to come to my house.

Just a reminder today is the beginning of the August IHSW so relax, find a good TV show marathon, a cup of coffee and stitch to your heart’s content.  Thank you to all of my old and new followers for all of the wonderful comments and I promise to do better.  Now I’m off to make those wonderful little xxs.

Boy now you have had a lot going on. Jack's A1C was a tad high when he had his bloodwork done. Don't you sometimes wonder why you even have insurance? I have wondered that same thing. Your newest start is very pretty! I love having a gazillion things going. I am sending mind waves to make you have lots going to! LOL! Huggles.

I was wondering where you were! The new chart is just lovely. I know just what you mean about charts, I keep thinking about kitting up some of my recent purchases even if I have no intention of starting them any time soon! How am I ever going to save money?? lol.

Oh Minnie!! You have the same symptom as me! I've been buying charts lately too, although I'm not starting them like you! Wow, you got a lot done on Joan Elliott's Africa! It's such a beautiful design!!

Sorry to hear of your hot water heater troubles and that you found out you have diabetes. It is manageable but you have to be very conscious of everything you eat now.

Take care Minnie!

Hey! I resemble that remark. Let me just tuck in my devil's tail and hide my horns. LOL! You got a lot done already. Bring it to Stitch Night when we start again.

Lovely new chart. Sorry to hear you have such evil friends who make you have lots of wonderful stash...shame on them!!!! ;)

Hope you can get everything sorted with the insurance company - we had the same problem last year, I honestly wonder if it's worthwhile paying the premiums, as they never seem to cover what goes wrong! Good luck!

I love your stitching. Can I ask where you got this chart? I have one that is african themed, but I think it is different from this one.

Hi Minnie, I'm new to your blog and enjoying reading. Sorry to hear you've had a rough patch lately. Like you, I've been on a buying spree- like I don't already have enough! I also have enabling friends who would include me as an evil enabler! Your Joan Elliott piece is gorgeous! I'll be watching your progress. Enjoy! Nancy

So sorry about the water heater. You automatically know that is a big expense when you have to replace it.
I know about the spiking of blood sugar. I've been called back on the carpet about it recently and now I am pricking myself everyday. I hate it like no tomorrow.
I really like the Joan Elliot piece you are working on and gotta get that in my stash when I get things settled here.
TFS.
Have a wonderful week.
Jackie:)

I completely know what you mean about those evil enablers who lurk and get us to purchase more and more stash. I, too, am falling victim to these types of people, but I'm loving it. I have not bought into having more than one WIP at a time, but I am starting to sneek in small projects during my larger ones. Eek!

Glad you had fun for the DH birthday, but sorry you returned to a mess. I hope it all works out!

I have to tell myself that I am not allowed to kit up projects, or they will get started! Not to enable, but this is a great start!

OMG, your post has me laughing my butt off! I am definitely one of the evil friends who likes to tell people they can start new projects every day if they want! lol!

Well, Minnie, the way you stitch, it's probably a good thing you have things all kitted up and ready to go. This is a beaut!!! :D
