Just a little progress...

Yes I made a little more progress since my marathon stitching last week.  I did finish the "Christmas In July SAL from Karen at Sunshine Stitches.  I really enjoyed this SAL it was quick and I used what I had on hand.  I haven't decided how I will finish it just yet, but I'm thinking about repeating the chart and trying my first bisconu.  

I decided to work on "African Women" until this evening and start on Papillon Creations "Around the World in 80 Stitches on Saturday.  On AW I have the third woman's face almost finished and will try to get as much done on this one as possible before taking another update picture.  Next time I'll have pictures of both to share.
I am excited to see the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics and to watch my favorite events: basketball,gymnastics, swimming and track&field. What is your favorite event? How about leaving me a comment and letting me know. And of course tell me if you are planning any special Olympic stitching.
A few days ago I picked up my 100th follower and as a thank you, I have sent a small package of goodies to Emma from My Creative Corner.  I am truly grateful for all of my followers and I thank you for coming to visit my blog and leaving me such encouraging comments. Allxx's July IHSW

The SWAT is over and so is the  IHSW and I tried to stitch and stitch and stitch over this past  week so that I would have lots and lots to show unfortunately I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked.  The first part of the week I worked on my project “Banu”  I am still on part 6, I finished the two rows of solid x’s and the two rows of backstitches and started on the leaf bunches.  I have done so many that I don’t even have to look at the chart.  I was seeing leaves with my eyes closed so I had to switch to something else.

I caught up on the 25 days of Christmas in July by Sunshine Stitcher, this is a beautiful little chart and it really stitches up quick and easy.

Next I promised my DD that I would stitch something for her BF, his birthday is in August so I finished stitching this Lion for him.  Now I can finish it as a trivet since he loves to cook.

Last but not least I ended up last night working on of course one of my forever projects African Women.  It doesn’t look like there was any progress but the green section of the shirt was only half stitches which most now have been crossed.

I did get the fourth part of my Papillon Creations “Around the World” and I am excited to get started on it so that may be picked up today.

Blogger tells me that I now have 99 followers, that is fantastic!! Right now for some reason I can only see 86, I hope I will be able to figure out who is number 100. There may be something special for them.

TUSAL July-All XX's

The good and the bad...

The good news is, I now have a craft room and the bad news is my baby (26 yr. old) has finally left the nest.  I have installed my desk, all of my stash and even my TV is mounted on the wall.  This room is more than a craft room, it’s my sanctuary. There is only one chair and everything in here is mine.  My first order of business was to put up my finished projects even though they are not framed and actually thumb tacked to the walls.  I had the bright idea to stretch them over foam core board which will make it easier to frame them as I find the appropriate frame for each one.  So far I’ve only done five, and like everything else it’s a WIP too. There are some very exciting things going on for me starting Saturday. I will be stitching in what we on the forum at (about.comcross stitch) call a SWAT. I’ve mentioned it before; it’s a Stitch Week-A-Thon. The rules are, you stitch whatever you want, as much or as little as you want, from the beginning Saturday to the ending Saturday (14-21 July). The Saturdays are 8 hour marathons to stitch and watch old movies or TV shows, your choice. The main thing is to have fun and know that somewhere in the world someone is stitching right along with you.  Also on the 15^th I will be attending a “Lock-In” at my LNS (In StitchesNeedlework), it starts at 1 pm until 5pm with a catered lunch. I will have pictures to share.  Monday is sign-up day for the next IHSW which starts on the 21 July, so I’ll be stitching every day, even after my mixed league golf round on Tuesday afternoon at (Greendale GolfCourse). Normally I’d be going to stitch-night at In Stitches Needleworks on the third Wednesday night of the month, but stitch-night is on hiatus until September so it’s stitching at home while listening to the TV.  Thursday is the new moon which means it’s time for TUSAL (Totally Useless SAL) I’ll have a picture to post for your approval.  Again on Friday I will be left to my own devices and who knows what trouble I will get into. Saturday of course is IHSW and the end of SWAT so a stitching I will be.  I suspect I will make some progress on some of my WIPs or some new starts; in any case I will be making some little xxs.  Well here are a few pictures of my sanctuary, and a bonus picture of me in Atlantic City last weekend.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments which I love and join me in making xxs.

WIPOCALYSE JULY 2012-ALL XXS

Most of the progress on my wips I have already shown but here are a couple of picture of everything currently in my work bag.  However here is my Wipocalyse report, for more info click the dragon on the right sidebar.

There is the B/W project- No Progress, the Three Kimonos-NP, African Women-Little Progress, Rose Sampler-LP, second picture Champagner-NP, (New) Christmas in July SAL(Sunshine Stitchers), AW80S-part 3 finished except for beading, Spring Heart-NP, Banu-currently working on part 6 and (New) Leo-just getting started. I may be able to get something finished if I didn’t keep starting new things but I have two birthday gifts to make, one is for this month and the other is for September what have I gotten myself into?

As you all probably have heard by now the Washington DC area was struck by a very large and powerful storm this past week and there were thousands left with no electricity and I was one.  We lost power Friday night and fortunately it was restored Saturday afternoon, but there are some still without power. This was due to strong wind gust bringing down large branches and sometimes whole trees on power lines.  There were no traffic lights so driving was scary and dangerous.  Our temperatures were already in the 100s before the storms so everybody was depending on their a/c, once it went out you suffered until you could find somewhere that was cool. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by the storm and the high heat.
