Sorry I keep going MIA and Gifted Gorgeousness

With the weather turning warmer I find myself wanting to be outside more so I've been missing from my blog,but I'm here today. I missed the Gifted Gorgeousness posting yesterday but here it is all stitched.

Snoozin Santa

Snoozin Santa is designed by Holly Gordon from Imaginating, Inc. it is stitched on 25ct Wedgewood Blue Lugana.  I just love this design the little mice are adorable, especially the one in Santa's beard. I'm thinking this is Christmas day after a long night of toy delivery. This chart was given to me by a friend on Facebook so, once I was finished the only thing to do was pass it on, so I hope the next person to get the chart enjoy it as much as I did. Now to find something else gifted to stitch.

Even though I've been missing from here I have been productive with my stitching, I've stitched three designs for a birthday card exchange I'm in but I can't share them right now. I added another symbol to "Namasta" for my daughter and started on the second to last (not pictured).

There are two more and then it's done,

In my last post I showed a design from The Primitive Hare "Wednesday We Stitch Black SAL"  it was titled There is a Little Witch in all of Us. It is now finished, stitched on 30ct Creek Bed Brown linen with DMC black and Classic Colors peapod.

As you can probably tell I love to stitch Witches. I also finished another design in this SAL. It's the "Regency Witch" stitched on 30ct Natural linen with DMC black and Classic Colors black coffee.

On a lighter note I stitched the April Fairy in the Lucie Heaton SAL, these are just so cute and quick to stitch.

These are being stitched on 28 ct Baby Afghan Cloth.
Last but not least is "His Majesty King Phillip Peacock" one of the faces from the Joan Elliott Mystery SAL.

I am currently working on the next to last face, but I'll save that picture for next time.

Wipocalypse March 2015

I won't repost the finish of No. Pole Express, the progress on Snoozing Santa or the start of There is a  little Witch in all of Us you've seen them already so I will move on to some other things I've worked on:  I added another of Lucie Heaton's little fairies to my blanket it's March.

I also added another of Brooke Nolan's adorable Advent Animals, he is #4 Duncan Dog

I just love his vest and cap. I started a project for my daughter, it's to be attached to a Yoga mat bag and I love stitching this, it's called Namaste by Ink Circles

I can't wait to get back to this one the symbols are so fun to stitch. Last be not least, I finally got to start on the latest part of Joan Elliott's mystery SAL

As you can see the head is being stitched one over one and it has stitched up faster then the rest.
This month's Wipocalypse question is "If money and time were not limiters, what project would be on your stitching bucket list?"  Like others have said I pretty much have enough charts to last a couple of lifetimes so that is not a real limiter, it's having enough time to stitch them all. Especially all of the Joan Elliott fairies and angels.

A Little Catching Up...

Once again from the bottom of my heart thank you all for the comforting words and prayers.  Now that I am back home and have access to my laptop I can share all of the things I missed, I had my iPad but it just wasn't the same. I didn't get a chance to post the picture of my update on the 15th for the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL so here it is:

According to Mr. Jenkins I didn't do to bad this last month my TUSAL wasn't too shabby, he approves.

As for  IHSW I was able to finish the freebie by Little House Needleworks "N Pole Express" this as I said was a freebie with the purchase of the called for Classic Colorworks aka Crescent  Colours floss.  I can't remember the actual name of the fabric I used but it has iridescent sparkles that remind me of the northern lights and of course they don't all show in the picture.

I also started on the 4th part of a Facebook SAL "Wednesday We Stitch Black" by "The Primitive Hare" it is stitched on 30ct Cashel linen in Creek Bed Brown

There are only two colors in this design, black of course and what I decided to use is Crescent Colours Pea Pod.  I will go now and you know what I will be doing... Yes making those wonderful little xxs.

Good and Bad News

A couple of posts ago I told you that my sister was terminally ill, well the good news is the

Lord took her home and relieved all her pain and suffering. The bad news is I already miss her so much. My beloved Diane was a type 1 diabetic from the age of 13 and defied all the doctor's predictions that she wouldn't live past her 20s, she was 68. Over the years she developed arthritis so bad that it forced her to retire as the school lunch lady, but it gave her the chance to move in with her daughter and grandson who she adored. Diane was diagnosed with breast cancer last spring and because of her diabetes and heart condition her treatment couldn't be as aggressive as the doctors would have liked but they began with the hope she would achieve remission. Unfortunately in early November tests showed that in fact the cancer had spread. Even though Diane and I are 11 years apart in age we were very close, at times I felt that she was my second mother. It killed me to see the suffering she was going through but I know in my heart that she is now whole, there is no diabetes, no arthritis, no cancer and no pain. I ask you all as friends to please send up a prayer for my niece and her son that they have the strength to get through these troubled times and I will back soon.

February WIPocalypse 2015

This month's WIPocalypse (click on the button to the right for more info) question is "How do you overcome the feeling that you're in a rut with a particular project?" Well I love to cross stitch as does all of us but there are times where a certain design feels like it will go on and on forever with no end in sight. What I have done is switch to something else for a while, usually something small so I can have that little boost of gratification that I have accomplished something and then I can return to that BAP (big a-- project) with a clear mind, stress-free. As I was looking over my wips I don't seem to have worked on very many but I do have some finishes and new starts, so lets get to them. First up is a small geisha by Joan Elliott from her small Oriental Collection booklet that came The World of Cross Stitch magazine issue 177. She is stitched on 14ct off white Aida with DMC floss.

Next up is Mary Mouse (no relation to Mickey or Minnie) another of Brooke Nolan's Advent Animals.

 She joins Kitty and Pete and is also stitched with DMC floss on my robin egg blue kitchen towel.
The one wip that I did work on this month is Sea Goddess, another Joan Elliott design.She went from looking like this...

to this.

The camera doesn't do this one justice, her colors are gorgeous in real life. Last but not least is a new start called "North Pole Express" from Little House Needleworks designed for Classic Colorworks.  It is a freebie that you have to get from your LNS as you purchase the CC flosses to do the design.

I am stitching this on a 28ct linen with iridescent sparkles (I forget the name) that remind me of the northern lights with the Classic Colorworks flosses called for. That is all I have this time, off to make some more wonderful little xxs.

TUSAL Time

First IHSW of 2015

Thank you all for the prayers and wonderful words they were greatly appreciated.  During this week and the first IHSW of 2015 I was able to finish December Calendar Girl

from Little House Needlework.  I have decided to mount each one as if it was the front of a flat ornament but I will not add a back panel for now. What I will do is attach strips of velcro around the edges and to this plaque, this way the months can be switched out and I don't use up a lot of wall space to display them.

 This plaque also fits in a picture stand so it doesn't have to go on the wall. By the way this one is not completed just giving you an idea of what it will look like.  This is a monthly SAL but I couldn't resist this little beauty, it's February fairy from Lucie Heaton free Facebook SAL.

So then there were two.

This next design is a little freebie from DMC, I changed one of the shades of pink for a metallic and finished it as a wall hanging for a very dear friend on mine.  She also loves snails so of course I had to add one.

As I was catching up on reading blogs I saw this SAL and just had to join it. I confess it is the perfect excuse to start this adorable chart I received from a friend on Facebook. 

The SAL is called "Gifted Gorgeousness" hosted by Jo at Serendipitous Stitching. I'll be stitching this on 25ct Lugana "Wedgewood Blue" and here is my progress so far.

A New Start...

I had a whole long story to explain my earlier disappearance but decided all of that was not necessary. I was told in November that my oldest sister is terminally ill, around the same time my daughter suffered a miscarriage that completely devastated us all. My sister is trying to enjoy the time she has left with her daughter and grandson and my daughter and her husband are recovering. As for me, I have my stitching to help keep me sane.

 This is the first design in a set of 13, it is from a Facebook SAL of Lucie Heaton's calendar fairies.  I am stitching 2 over 2 on 18ct Afghan cloth with DMC threads. This little lady is January.

 This of course is the latest installment of the Facebook Joan Elliott Mystery SAL, the face and neck have been stitched 1 over 1, all of the beads will be added last.

This is also from a Facebook SAL called "On Wednesday we stitch Black", this particular design is part one of "Come in my little pretties".  This is being stitched on 28ct cashel, Vintage Country Mocha with DMC and Crecsent Colors.  I finally got my December Calendar Girl from LHN but I don't have enough stitched to share. Well these and my other projects won't stitch themselves so I'm off to make some wonderful little xxs.  Thanks for stopping by.

My Advent Animals are part of a 25 part set and this is as far as I have gotten but these two are finishes for 2014. Joan Elliott's Mystery SAL has 4 more sections but these are finishes for 2014. Make a Wish needs a border but the main design is a finish for 2014. This is the only one of the Three Kimonos finished for 2014. Finally I am missing the chart for December Calendar Girl but these are finishes for 2014.  The rest are true wips.  My main goal for 2015 is to do finishing work on all of the stitched items in my 2014 folder and complete all of the above wips.

WIPOCALYPSE OCTOBER 2014

The question asked this month is "Are you a Halloween or Christmas stitcher?" My answer is I can't decide, it kind of depends on which charts I see first. The stitching magazines for both usually come out around the same time and most of the local shops have Christmas in July and Halloween in May or June. As far as stitching goes I love both so which ever I see first that's which one I'm stitcher for the year. Like this year is Halloween.

 I stitched another Halloween ornament but it's for an exchange and can't share just yet. I have also been working on my Joan Elliott Mystery SAL this past month. Due to so much skin showing on this one and I'm stitching one over one it has taken a little longer but I'm loving every stitch.

 Almost done.  Then there are of course my Sept. Calendar Girl and Cake.

I love the little bee made of beads.  I managed to finish Katie Kitty from Brooke Books Productions.
