TUSAL for May 2013

My daytime companion and guard dog "Bud" informed me last month that he would be interested in helping me display my TUSAL along with Mr. Jenkins. There's only one thing....

He's just a little bit camera shy:-)

Confused!

I am in a total quandary as to what I should work on next, just in the last few days I have ordered and received fabric, finished another project, set-up something new I've never tried before. Well let me explain, I saw this DMC fabric "Floral Impressions" on Facebook, a woman was stitching Joan Elliott's Victorian Lady on it and I liked it so much that I ordered it in addition to another piece called "Garden Trellis' and one called "Garden Trellis 2". This is JE Victorian Lady in issue #221 of Cross Stitch Collection
and here are the pieces of fabric I've received
The finished project I mentioned is the Little House Needleworks "Home of a Needleworker Too"
I found this DMC Soluble Canvas at Wal-Mart the other day and I have been wanting to stitch this chart on this bag so I've sewn the canvas on to the bag but I haven't started any stitching yet.
I still have six WIPs and my next chart in the LHN Hometown Holiday series I could start or LHN "Needleworker"
So much to do, so little time. There are still stitched pieces laying about that need finishing, I think my problem is this little thing called a computer with Facebook and all of those other wonderful blogs out there.  I guess I should shut it down and get to making some little xxs.

A Week Late

But here is my Wipocalypse report in pictures

In addition to my WIPs I did a little finishing over the last few days
This is the Black and White wall hanging I had planned sometime ago.  I finally decided on how to get it done and I did it.  And this is the pillow I had planned for "The African Ladies".
I have some other ideas for finishing some other stitched pieces but I think I'll just surprise you. Thank you all for stopping by for a visit and welcome to all my new followers.  Time to check-in on some other blogs and then back to making some wonderful little xxs

April 2013 IHSW

I have been taking full advantage of the spring-like weather we have had.  There's the walking in the evenings and stitching on the balcony or with the windows open enjoying the warm breezes.  I was able to not only finish the second part of the Little House Needleworks Hometown Holiday series, but I completely stitched another LHN “To Thine own self be true”.

With all of the big pieces I am working on it is so refreshing to be able to actually start and finish a piece in a couple of days.
For this IHSW I picked up this LHN chart “Home of a Needleworker” and started it.  I decided to stitch it on 18 ct antique white Aida with the recommended Crescent colors. Unlike the other LHN charts this will not be finished in two or three days.

I also worked on the 11th part of AW80S by Papillon Creations.

Well I will go back to stitching, while listening to “Hurricane Punch” Tim Dorsey.  It’s the best way to stitch with a good audio book. If you haven’t tried it you don’t know what you’re missing.  Thank you all for stopping by and happy xxs.

Spring has "Sprung"

Yes I do believe Winter is finally over, and none to soon for me.  The weather here went from 40 degrees one day to near 80 degrees the next.  I love it!!  We even reached 90 yesterday and of course the A/C was turned on.  Now I can get out and walk and play golf at last.
As for stitching after I finished my Banu design I decided that I was going to start the Little House Needleworks "Hometown Holiday Series"  so far there are two charts available.  At stitch night last Wednesday I picked up both "My House" and "Main Street Station".
Here is "My House" completely stitched.  It only too 3 evenings.

It's stitched on a 28ct Cashel with the recommended floss.  I will eventually be finishing them all into blocks as they are on the model.
I am now ready to start the second one "Main Street Station"
It will be stitched on 32 ct Lt Mocha Belfast linen with the recommended flosses.
I need to make a trip to my LNS to get the one Crescent Color I don't have and then it's on.  Well I need to get out of the house for now, so I can start making little xxs later.  Thank you all for stopping by.

And the winner is...

Yes the winner of my drawing for the "Petit Cat" chart is Rose from Christmascitystitcher so the chart will be winging it's way to you very soon.
In addition to drawing a winner yesterday I finally finished my "Banu Fb SAL". As I've said before this was designed as Blackwork but me with my love of colors had to do it my way.  I stitched this with J&P Coats threads that I actually bought from Wal-Mart because I wanted to see what the thread was like. The design is gorgeous the thread is very course and I'm not a big fan but the colors worked out pretty good on this design.

I have no idea how it will be finished, maybe a pillow or I may even have it framed.  I had to visit my wip bag and concentrate some attention on something else that has been neglected for a while, I worked on my Rose Sampler at stitch night yesterday so that will be the one.
I want to say welcome to all new followers and thank you everyone for all of the wonderful comments. Well nothing will get finished if I don't make some of those wonderful little xxs, see you next time.

April Fool...

Mother Nature played a terrible trick on us.  Easter Sunday was a nice sunny day and Monday was even better it was 67 degrees until the sun went down and the temps started dropping.  Today it is only 47 degrees but very sunny.  I know the saying of "be careful of what you wish for" but I wish it was Summer already.  This tree is already budding and look at the blue in that sky.
Well I have been trying to finish the "Banu" design before I share again so there is no stitching pictures today. Plus my drawing for the "Petit Cat" chart will be tomorrow so I will post again and hopefully have a finish to share. Well to make that happen I have to make some xxs. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter!

Only Love could leave heaven for a stable.
Only Humility could use a donkey as a throne.
Only Hope could trade a crown of gold for one of thorns.
Only Jesus could give up everything He deserved, to give us something we could never earn… Life Without End.

March 2013 Wipocalypse

I haven't got a lot to share for this past month as far as stitching goes, for some reason, but here goes. First I made a small ornament with mine and my hubby's anniversary as practice for another project I will be starting later for my son and DIL.
Next I worked on "Angels of the World" that I shared in my last post.
Then I won a drawing from Cleejoow, it is a beautiful cat chart "Petit Chat" by Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks. It was started as new traveling chart so I will keep it going, if you are interested in stitching it next let me know in a comment and I will draw a name on the 3rd of April.

I stitched this cat on 18ct Oatmeal Aida with DMC floss.  I don't know the color name but it looks like cinnamon, so my cat's name is Cinnamon Stick.  And last but not least for the last couple of days I have stitched on my wip I call "Banu" from Seba Designs.

Well that's it, that's all I have. I'll go back to making the little xxs to share next time. Thanks for stopping by!

Long time, No see...

But I've been busy since our last visit.  I finally finished all of the white in the banner above my angles and also managed to stitch the poem. This was done before my hubby took me to Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando; I had the best time ever.  Those places truly make you feel like a kid again, until you start getting those cramps in your legs and feet from all of the walking that you forgot you’re not use too anymore. That’s when you find a bench, sit and relax and just enjoy the beautiful 80 degree weather they were having in Florida.  I hated to leave and come back to winter here in Virginia, yes it’s still cold.  I think the groundhog lied to us.

Oh yeah back to my stitching… I took the angels to Orlando just in case I had a chance to stitch and I did a little but I must have picked up one of those Florida frogs because last night I ended up rippin’ every one of those stitches I put in right back out.  I packed him up and sent him heading south and got my stitching back in-line and here is where I am now.
Thanks everyone for stopping by, I've got to finish laundry and get dinner started and then I’ll be making some little xxs.   Here’s a few pictures from my trip, enjoy.
